A wood fence brings privacy, character, and value in a way no synthetic material quite matches, which is why it remains the most-requested fence in our area. We build custom wood fences from quality western red cedar and pressure-treated southern yellow pine, cut and assembled on-site to fit your exact yard — not pre-made panels forced to fit. It is a favorite in the mature neighborhoods around O'Fallon and in the newer subdivisions and acreage lots near Foristell and Wentzville.
Building wood to last here means building for Missouri's heavy clay soil and freeze-thaw winters. Clay holds water and swells, then shrinks in dry spells, so a post set too shallow will heave and lean within a season. We set every post in concrete below the frost line so your fence stays straight, and fasten pickets with coated, corrosion-resistant screws and ring-shank nails that resist warping, cupping, and nail pops as the wood moves. Wood Fence Styles We Build
- Privacy (dog-ear or flat-top) — solid, tightly-spaced pickets for full backyard seclusion, the most requested style in new subdivisions
- Board-on-board — overlapping pickets that close every gap as the wood dries, for full privacy that looks finished from both sides
- Shadowbox — the "good neighbor" fence, with alternating boards that look identical on each side and let air flow through
- Picket — classic spaced pickets in dog-ear, French Gothic, or flat-top, perfect for front yards at 3–4 ft
- Ranch rail (split-rail or post-and-board) — open 2- and 3-rail borders for larger lots and acreage
Materials, Grades & Heights We Install
We build with two main species. Western red cedar is naturally rot- and insect-resistant, stays straighter, and shows off a rich grain — ideal when you want lasting beauty and the option to seal it clear or stain it. Pressure-treated southern yellow pine (ground-contact rated for posts) is the budget-friendly workhorse that holds up well when sealed. Many homeowners pair treated-pine posts with cedar pickets for the best of both. Standard pickets are dog-ear, flat-top, or French Gothic; common heights are 4 ft for semi-private and picket runs and 6 ft for privacy, with 8 ft available where codes allow. We finish with optional post caps, top and bottom trim boards, and lattice or decorative toppers, in natural wood, a clear sealer, or a custom semi-transparent or solid stain. We bring samples so you can see them against your home.
